February 15 2013 Cross Canada Blog Hop

Welcome to our February Blog Hop featuring a 2 page layout. This is the first Blog Hop for us where we have featured just scrapbook layouts. We hope that you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers....whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to do....by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see. Thank you… now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Michelle S. Blog at mycreationswithMichelle.blogspot.ca. If you came from Teresa Riglin

My two page layout this month is based on the Chantilly Workshop on the Go on page 21 of the Spring Summer 2013.

I did not use the kit itself in error but recreated my own design using the Chantilly line from Paper Packet X7163B.

For the leaf and flower stamps I used the Alphabet set E1019

The leaves are done in Sweet Leaf Z2153

The Flower in the upper right I used Cranberry Z2116

The eyes in the half circle at the top right of page one, and bottom left from on page two are from the Sparkles, Red, Pink and Purple Assorted Pack Z1326. I used the large pinker ones on the purple sheet in the pack.

I have put a flip flap in the centre so that I can make more use of pictures, and/or to journal once side and have a picture on the other. I haven’t quite decided yet.

I cut 18 one inch circles in half to create the semi –circle borders, outlining using the Cranberry marker Z2316

The two one inch circles are outlined using the same marker.

For the three inch circle in the bottom left of page one I used White Daisy cardstock for the base and then  I cut pie shapes using both sides of the different patterned papers included in the Chantilly paper pack. The middle circle is one of the two one inch circles described above. The centre is one of the Chantilly assorted covered buttons.

On page two the main difference is that I inserted three 3” x 5” rectangles to attach pictures to at a later date.

The semi-circle in the upper left was done using a three inch circle cut in half and pie shapes cut from some of the two sided pages included in the Chantilly paper pack.

The flower at the bottom right of page two came from the Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements X7163C.

I thought the birds on the Chantilly Paisley sheet were so beautiful that I used one as the centre of my border on page two.
